Day 54 – 217.5 pounds

D.54-217.5 Another day in which I’m quite pleased with the weigh-in! I am quite pleased with myself at exercising good control over my portion sizes. I’ve jus started this journaling thing, but you do feel a bit self-conscious knowing you’re going to make your meals public knowledge. (Down 14.2 pounds)

Breakfast

I went to breakfast with mom this morning. I of course wanted something delicious but knew that I should be mindful of what I eat.  Given the tendency of restaurants to serve huge breakfast portions, we decided to instead go to a Gio’s Baguettes & More in Montrose.
We both had the Cheese Omelette Croissant with a small cappuccino.  The portion was just right and taste was delicious. As always, I’m sure there are plenty of healthier options; but given that my tendency is to go for those breakfasts with eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, and a side of pancakes, I will definitely categorize this as a win! 🙂

Lunch/Dinner

Lunch this time was both delicious and quite healthy. I had a cactus salad (if you haven’t had it, it is incredible) and one piece of baked chicken. I did not remove the skin because it adds so much flavor, but I did limit myself to only one small piece.

Today was my school night, so there is always a huge temptation to grab something quick and unhealthy before class, but I wasn’t hungry so I decided to just grab a large Coke Zero to make sure I stay hydrated and with something him my stomach.

Post-Dinner Indulgence

During class break I was starting to get just a bit hungry so I went to Starbucks for a small cup of brewed coffee and plain croissant. This is much lighter that my usual choices at Starbucks which typically involve something like a grande Iced White Chocolate Mocha and a cheese Danish or something similar.

Fitness

No real structured exercise today, but given my day you would understand. A tale for another time…
