Ojai with the parents

We took my parents out for a day trip to Ojai. Initially, we meant to have brunch at The Oaks at the Ojai Valley Inn, but due to their continued COVID restrictions, they have limited capacity, and we had to find a nearby alternative.

Farmer and the Cook

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat, seeing as it was getting later in the day and getting closer to the time we would go to the next restaurant. We had some fruit smoothies and shared an order of avocado toast. The fruit smoothies were delicious, and the toast was exceptional. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced, from the bread to the seasoning on the avocado. All of the available seating was outdoors, which was perfect for the warm morning.

Ojai Olive Oil

After our quick stop at the Farmer and the Cook, we headed to Ojai Olive Oil for a tasting of their olive oils and brought home a few bottles to enjoy later. The tastings are held outside beneath the canopy of a few olive trees. My dad was surprised that there was an olive farm so near to us. He said it reminded him of a few years ago when we visited an olive oil producer in either Spain or Portugal. It was near the border, and we couldn’t agree precisely where it was.

Boccali’s Pizza and Pasta

And finally, we made it to our last stop, where we ordered many small dishes and a small pizza to share. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of the food. 😦
