My mom is the person I’ve traveled the most with and have gone to seemingly countless concerts and operas with. Needless to say, we both miss going to all these places due to the pandemic. So when her birthday came around this year we decided to do something special while making sure it was very safe for her and us. We took her for lunch to Ojai and took the proper precautions of wearing masks the whole car ride and making sure we were the only patrons at the restaurant. We also sat outside even though it was chilly and windy. The restaurant was the same one we went to last week, La Bodega in Ojai, CA. I wish we could have done more, but I think it was great to get her out of the house for a little bit. It’s strange to think that on my birthday in January this year, we went to dinner followed by a concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall to listed to music by Wagner. We had absolutely no worries about sitting near other diners and being inside a hall with three thousand other people unmasked persons. I can hardly wait for this pandemic to be over.
