Yesterday ended on a sour note work-wise, so I needed to make sure today I wasn’t distracted by that because I had a lot to get done. I eliminated distractions as best I could, and this usually entails listening to classical music. So I put on some Christmas music–classical Christmas, that is. After tiring of Christmas music, I transitioned into listening to gregorian chants, and I found myself thinking back on all my years of Catholic school from kindergarten all the way through high school. During my teenage years, I felt it was a bit much. Later, I reflected on my time in Catholic school as having religion classes that could have better been used on other subjects. But increasingly–perhaps because I’m older now I find myself thinking fondly of those times and find myself being grateful and fortunate to have been a part of that. Even now, after all these years, it is so much a part of who I am.
