365: Day 92 – Nothing to write about, except work

I have been busier than usual lately and I’ve spent the last fifteen minutes unable to come up with an idea of what to write about. So this will come out more like a stream of consciousness. Today I was trapped in meeting after meeting all day long for both jobs. In my main job there is an issue with payment information that is being reported that will take weeks if not months to sort out and fix. It is not a major issue, but it is something that needs to be addressed. In my side job–the one that causes more stress–I keep having to pick up the slack for a coworker. The original plan was for me to slowly step away from projects, but she creates even more work for me and I have ended up being even more involved and not less. It stresses me out because I feel I have to constantly be supervising to prevent sub-par work from being done because my name goes on it too. I like to take pride in my work and I want to guard my reputation. In my main job, I don’t have to worry about the quality of my work, so I actually look forward to uncovering mistakes and having the opportunity to fix them–like occurred with the payment information. On another note, I am working to focus more on an organization I serve on the board on. I have not been the best about dedicating enough time to this organization since the start of the pandemic and this pandemic will create a difficult situation in terms of fundraising and engagement. So I’m going to need to get great and creative ideas.
